A few weeks ago, I ran across a Facebook post about a t-shirt campaign highlighting the awesomeness of African American women entitled, Black Girls Are Magic. This campaign was led by the creator of the blog, Dirty Pretty Thangs. I immediately purchased this t-shirt and anxiously waited for the campaign to close so that it will be printed and sent to me. I had the perfect set of thrifted pieces to wear it once it arrived in the mail.
Now, I am definitely not a big t-shirt wearing type of girl. But, lately in my thrift adventures, I have seen more and more t-shirts that have sayings I can totally relate to, and can put together a cute outfit using these tees. The great thing about thrifting tees, is that I normally never have to pay more than $2.00 for a tee, no matter what thrift/consignment shop I might find it.
Although this tee was not thrifted, I did pair it with a full ensemble of thrifted items. Check out this really cute thrifted Jessica Simpson blazer that I believe makes this outfit so complete. Although those referee shorts are a tad short (maybe more than a tad), the blazer still makes the outfit look classy. A very comfortable pair of thrifted Nine West pumps (they aren’t always comfortable for me) and thrifted Steve Madden leather clutch completes the outfit.
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the t-shirt section in your nearest thrift, you might be missing out on some cool tees.
I don’t even have to tell you this, but you look so FLY! I love how you styled that t-shirt. I’m not a t-shirt girl either, but I do love this look. That blazer is NICE as well. Lovely…!
