This week, Keren Charles of Two Stylish Kays, and I, are rocking BLAZERS!
I absolutely LOVE blazers and rompers! For one, I am always cold, so having a cute blazer is my fashionable relief for weather control, especially at nights.
Blazers are also, by far, the EASIEST items to thrift. Don’t believe me, just try it. Go into any thrift store and see if you won’t find at least one aisle dedicated to blazers. At this point, I have to dare myself not to walk down those aisles because I have way too many.
But, let’s jump back to this outfit. Besides blazers, I am rompers obsessed, and this one is my absolute favorite. It’s lightweight, fits me great and very easy to wear. However, I wasn’t comfortable going on a dinner date with the romper alone. While I have no issues wearing it alone during the summer days, I think at nights, our outfits should be a little dressier. Call me cheesy!
I tried it on with this thrifted blazer and instantly fell in love with the outfit. The blazer dresses it up and looks adult chic rather than a little girl. Cute, sexy and still comfortable is the look I am going for here.
This Ann Taylor blazer was thrifted from the Salvation Army in Virginia for $2.50. A beautiful linen blazer for only $2.50 is a SCORE!
I paired it with these funky wedges that I recently purchased from Nordstrom Rack for $14.99 – THRIFTY PRICE that’s for sure. Bonus, they are mad comfortable. I added these silver chain necklace which was also thrifted from a Goodwill for $7.99. Dinner ready!
Now, let’s jump into our third week of our Thrift Sisters link up! Keren Charles and I launched our Thrift Sisters link up, encouraging you all to post thrifted or thrifty priced items to this link up. We are very appreciative of those who took time out to link up their great thrifted items.
This week’s featured Thrift Sister is Carylee of More Pieces of Me. She rocked this striped skirt so many AWESOME ways! The use of one skirt in so many great outfits highlights our mantra, that you can be stylish without busting your pocketbook. Check out her blog for more stylish outfits.
Now it’s your turn to join us this week. Please link up your favorite thrifted or thrifty priced item. Here are the rules and go ahead and link away!
It´s been a while since I went thrifting since it´s still sales season in here although it´s about to end. Anyway, I´m just like you, I love thrifting blazers too although it´s the combo of a romper and blazer that got me thinking of buying rompers after seeing your look today, hahaha! You look so adorable in this combo, Ayana. 🙂

Cheryl,
Sales season is definitely a good thing! Definitely take advantage, lol. This is honestly the first time I have done this but loved the idea of doing it more.
I honestly don’t know that I would ever think to go to a thrift store specifically for blazers – I am a TERRIBLE thrifter – but I may need to check it out next time I find myself in a thrift store 😉
Joelle,
I promise you that if you are thrifting blazers, you won’t be let down. This is the perfect time to check them out as they are bringing in their fall/winter pieces and blazers are definitely a part of that inventory. Let me know if you ever find it.
I don’t know why I didn’t think of pairing a hip length blazer with a romper! I love this look and my mind is now racing on how I can replicate this! I paired a denim jacket with a romper for a casual look, but the denim jacket hits more at the waist. This silhouette is fabulous on you!
And thanks again for the sweet words and the shout out! I’m mentioning you guys in my post tomorrow and linked back to you two today as well!
Carylee,
Thank you!!!! Can’t wait to see what a stylish fashionista like yourself come up with!
I like that Ann Taylor blazer! Your playsuit is so cute! Yellow is flattering on you. You could wear a lemon printed frock with ease~
Jessica,
Thank you. I do love bold and bright colors . I actually would like to find myself a lemon colored dress. It’s on the thrift wish list for sure.
I’m always amazed with your thrifting skills. $2.50 for a blazer is an awesome deal. This past fall I got some great deals of blazers at Stein Mart. I got one for around $5 and the other at around $7.
I love your romper/blazer combo.
Sonya,
It’s not really about the thrifting skills. Thrift stores themselves will surprise you with their prices. Stein Mart is AWESOME. I so wish they had one in San Diego, but they don’t. Great prices on your finds though. Those are definitely some thrifty prices. Thanks for stopping by.
I love that look with the blazer!! You always have such great outfits and get them nice and cheap! I love going to good will and finding stuff. its either a hit or miss at the location closest to me
Lindsay,
Thanks girl. Yes, there are times when it definitely a hit and miss at thrift stores. The rule in thrifting is just not to give up completely. There are always things coming and going.
Man, I love a good blazer. The boyfriend length over the romper is perfection!

this pattern is just too cute!! great find as always!
Amanda,
Thank you!
I love you in that romper especially with the jacket. CUUUUUTE!
Christen,
Thank you.
Lovely look! I like that the blazer is a sort of counterpoint to the romper. It definitely makes it classier. Great score on the blazer btw.
Alex – Funky Jungle
Alex,
Thanks. I had never tried a romper with a blazer before, but super happy I did. I have lot of rompers and this opens a new look for a lot of outfits now.
This blazer is so fab, love the entire outfit – you look gorgeous! I wear blazers all the time. I’m wearing a pink one to work today – hehe! They make everything look so much classier and sophisticated!
Katie <3
Katie,
Thank you hun. Blazers are truly an item every fashionista should have in their closet. But, would you believe, I don’t own a pink blazer. I know, I know, I have been on the hunt for them. Still searching.
I am blazer obsessed as well, and have definitely thrifted quite a few of them myself. It’s like an addiction for sure.
Love how you used it to dress up the romper, great choice!
Lyddiegal,
Yes, another thrifter who knows her stuff..lol. Blazers are definitely easy thrifted items. And, yes, because they are so easy, the addictions comes quick. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the compliment.
Ahh for some reason I thought your link-up is on Thursdays so I linked up a ay late. My jump-suit was a steal, just so you know – under 30 bucks for that beauty.
You both look gorgeous in your blazers. Your black one is a timeless beauty. I am loving your head full of curls and that romper is super cute. I think that is why you will like my jumper, today. =))
Totally agree you can always find a good blazer to be thrifted! I love the print on your romper. I am a sucker for pretty print. Thanks for linking up!
Jena,
Yay, another thrifter!!!! Thanks for the compliment on the romper print. It is exactly what drew me in when I purchased it.
Sexy!!! … seriously, great ensemble and poise – looks utterly terrific. I’m also a huge fan of blazers – they’re so versatile and are an easy layer to quickly add personality to an outfit. The romper is a ton of fun too.. 😀 Looking at this made me smile! ^__^

Look at you rockin that romper and looking cute! I have so many thrifted blazers and it’s true, there are always racks of blazers and some of them are just too hard to resist. Have a wonderful weekend.
Antionette,
Thank you!!! I try to tell people all the time that blazers are so easy to find at the thrift stores that they should give it a try first before trying them at the retail stores. Hoping to inspire folks to give it a try in this post.
Looks good! I love blazers too. I used to have a closet full of them!
Thank you! Used to—- don’t tell me you don’t have them anymore.
Obsessed with rompers lately. You look darling as usual! I’ve yet to find a blazer that fits me right. Still on the hunt!
Kristine,
Thanks honey! Keep hunting for that blazer. Thrift stores carry so many various styles that it might be the best place to get an idea of what might look good on you!
I love that romper. I have never tried to wear one, but this makes me want to really bad!
Ashley,
I hope you give them a try. They are actually quite easy to wear and look cute on so many various body types.
Can I just say that your legs seem to go on forever! I love blazers for that smart casual look.
Jemma,
Hahahah…thank you. I am actually only 5’6, so it’s really just the camera angle.
Love the blazer! You are totally rocking it! And the romper looks amazing on you! I love how you paired the two together, gorgeous!

Sophie,
Thank you for the kind words. I wasn’t too sure of the pairings at first, but have to admit, that I might try this again.
you look so cute!! I never think I can pull off a blazer
Raewyn,
Thank you. Just remember there are tons of various styles to blazers, so don’t give up on them completely.
I love blazers there great, I never managed to ever really find one a thrifted store I loved enough to buy 🙂
Sarah,
I don’t think I own a blazer that I have not thrifted. They can be so expensive when you purchase them retail, well the great brands that is. I’m sorry that you haven’t gotten that perfect thrifted blazer yet.
It’s been a while since I did some thrift shopping, might just heard out today and do some. Btw that blazer and romper looks so cute you rock
Myrabev,
If you haven’t been thrifting in a while, then I would say that you should definitely have it on the list of things to do very soon! Glad I can inspire.
Love the looks! I’m so impressed! San Francisco is big on thrifting! You would love it here!
Jordan,
I have a weekend trip planned at the end of the year to visit San Francisco for that exact reason. You guys might have more thrift store per capita than banks..lol. Thank you for the compliment and for stopping by.
What a cute idea! I never would have paired a romper and a blazer… but it makes perfect sense and you look gorgeous 🙂
Nikki,
Thank you. I didn’t know at first if it would look good, but decided that I really liked it and will do it again. Thank you for stopping by and commenting!
LOVE your look! Especially the shoes. And I am in the same boat as you with rompers, can’t get enough.
Jessica,
Thank you! The shoes you can get from Nordstrom Rack. I thought I was the only one with this obsession.
Love the colors in your romper! You look great!!
Alicia,
Thank you! Yellow is definitely one of my fav colors.
I am absolutely obsessed with that romper. OMG so cute and looks phenomenal on you. Love this!!!
Jamie,
Thank you!!!! It’s definitely one of my favorite go to rompers.
Blazers are always hard for me to thrift because I am so small up top! But I love finding them. I found one at Nordstrom Rack (not as thrifty, but still!) and I love it!
Leanna,
Anything from the Nordstrom Rack is thrifty in my book. Their mark downs are amazing.
OH I love this!!! FROM HEAD TO TOE!!! Honey I just feel like we might just be kindred spirits!! WOW! I’m so pissed that I missed the link up! I’m writing it down right now! that blazer is a SCORE!! I use to have a real blazer fetich when i thrifted. So much so in college it became a joke of sorts!!! I gotta get back on it!! you just gave me blazer lust! I also love rompers expect in light of porter potties.
