If you don’t already own a white tuxedo shirt, then add it to your thrift wish list and definitely keep your eye out for one. These shirts are great spring and fall pieces as the weather starts to become a little cooler.
I opted for this black and white look while enjoying some rooftop views in SoHo, NYC. This tuxedo shirt is simply beautiful. Designed for J Crew by the premier British shirtmakers, Thomas Mason, this tailored tuxedo shirt with its mandarin collar is a perfect classic white shirt. You should know that it also carries a high price point of $158 on the J Crew website as of the time I am writing this post.
While gorgeous as it is, $158 is not in my price point for a white shirt at the end of the day. But as I say often, you don’t always have to pay such prices for amazing fashion. I found this tuxedo shirt at the Beverly Hills Discovery Shop. First, who knew that Beverly Hills would have thrift stores? I mean, it’s Beverly Hills! Second, this store had so many amazing designer pieces at “true” thrift store prices. On that visit, I can say that I racked up, and walked away with many great pieces to include this white tuxedo shirt.
Going for a simple and classic look I paired the tuxedo shirt with my vegan leather leggings. You guys might already be tired of these leggings, but I will say it again, I absolute love these leggings. Versatile as you can see here, here and here. These leggings are designed to be a true closet workhorse for me.
I went with some black mesh peep toe booties and a thrifted clutch from Goodwill, making this classic black and white combo, a chic but inexpensive outfit.
