One of the things I have missed the most about blogging is being able to share my awesome fashion finds and styling tips with my readers. Some of those styling tips center around upcoming fashion trends, and how to achieve the newest looks at a fabulously low price.
You don’t have to be a slave to the fashion trends, but I say that you should at least be aware of the season trends, which includes color. According to the PANTONE FAshion Color Report, “from colors that are bright and vivid to those that convey a sense of earthiness, the top 10 colors for spring 2017 are reminiscent of the hues that surround us in nature.” In conjunction with New York Fashion Week, the PANTONE Fashion Color Report provides a comprehensive overview of fashion designers’ use of color in their spring 2017 collections.
One such color you will probably see a lot of in Spring 2017 is what PANTONE calls Lapis Blue. This bold blue exudes strength and confidence, but still has a beautiful radiance.
Call it Lapis Blue or simply Bold Blue, you have to admit that this is a gorgeous color. I found this beautiful bold blue full skirt from sheinside.com, the site that I get pretty much most of my full skirts from. This gorgeous skirt set me back only $9.99. These full skirts are wonderfully made and do not look cheap at all. They also come with a lining in them, which for me makes a piece seem more expensive. There are no pockets, but hey, for $9.99, I am not going to complain too much. With that said though, I also don’t necessarily believe that this company carries the best quality items. I have ordered a few things from here, and have had to send them all back, except for my full skirts. If you do take the chance, order the largest size. I am wearing their “XL”.
I wanted the blue full skirt to be the center of attention, so I decided on a simple Zara white t-shirt that has a slight ruffle. I love Zara’s clothing, but not their regular prices. However, when they put items on sale, you better believe you are about to save a whole lot of money. This t-shirt was regularly priced at $29.99. However, this Thrifting Diva only paid $9.99 because searching for items in clearance racks will always yield a score at Zara’s.
Speaking of clearance racks, and this lapis blue color trend, check out these BCBG fringe sandals. These sandals are by far one of my most favorite sandals that I own. The color is simply gorgeous, and to be perfectly honest with you, they are comfortable enough to wear for a few hours (4-5), without feeling like your heels are attacking your poor feet. I found these BCBG sandals in the clearance section of DSW, and were $14.99. I also couldn’t believe my luck when I saw them, in my size, for that amazingly low price.
I completed this look with some bright accessories. The clutch was thrifted from EA Vintage in San Diego for a whopping, $5.00. Perfect piece for this outfit, wouldn’t you say?
Balancing out the reds in the clutch is this beautiful statement necklace and some other arm accessories that I got from Charming Charlie.
