Today’s outfit is all about this scuba skater skirt. This scuba material is a synthetic rubber that’s often used to make wet suits, but has become popular as a clothing material. The fabric is very thick making the scuba material perfect addition to your winter wardrobe. I bought this black scuba skater skirt at Charlotte Russe for $9.99 on a clearance rack. If you don’t already make a bee line to the clearance sections of your favorite retail stores when you shop, then you are not truly capitalizing on savings.
This skater skirt is a wardrobe staple as it’s extremely versatile. Fitted at the waist and flared out into an A-line silhouette, this is an ideal choice for a simple and easy outfit.
For a preppy look, I went with a black lightweight sweatshirt over a denim shirt. Loved this “Cabin Fever” sweatshirt which I got from Kohls during the holiday sales frenzy for only $6.99.
I completed this outfit with these blue over the knee boots from Heels.com which I got last winter season for under $100. You may have seen them here in another look.
Finally, to add a little sparkle, I opted for a large statement necklace that I got from Miss Match Boutique here in San Diego for $35 after a 20% discount. Statement necklaces are simply that, they make a statement! Here, I wore it close to the neckline more like a bib. Working with statement necklaces can seem intimidating at first, but step out of your comfort zone and give them a try.
Have you styled a skater skirt lately?
