I am all about the off the shoulder tops that have taken over this spring season. If you are looking for a trend that literally works for every woman, no matter your body shape, size or age – then please try on an off the shoulder top. I promise you that you will not be disappointed. How can you complain about a piece that elevates an outfit, easy to style and makes you look like a star. Truth be told, as long as you have a pair of shoulders, you can rock an off the shoulder top and feel fabulous.
I found this striped off the shoulder top with bell sleeves from an online fashion website, Make Me Chic, for only $23. It was the first time ordering from this site, and I was a little skeptical about what I would get once my order arrived. However, I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the pieces that I did order. This shirt was by far my favorite as it is such a dramatic top. Whenever I wear this top, which I have definitely rocked more than a few times now, I always get a lot of compliments. It’s definitely a head turner ladies!
As I have a thing for clothing pieces with prints, then add stripes to my faves as well. File under forever style favorites. Striped shirt is a staple that will never go out of style and are ranked right up there with the white button-down and perfect-fit skinnies. Consider stripes the “neutral” of the print world, pairing as perfectly with other patterns as it does with solids. The possibilities are endless with this wardrobe work horse. To add to the drama of this top is the high low cut of this off the shoulder top, and the large bell sleeves.
I paired this off the shoulder top with these white skinny jeans from Old Navy. I originally purchased them for $19 during a mega sale weekend. They are currently $29.00, still a great deal. I will admit that I do have a few pairs of white skinnies, as I tend to wear them often in the summer. Of course, wearing white skinnies was an easy style choice to pair with the blue and white off the shoulder top.
I chose these Nine West floral heels to complete this look as I love how stripes and florals always work so well. These heels were purchased from Macy’s clearance for $23, marked down from $89. If you have never visited the Macy’s shoe clearance racks, then you are truly missing out on some serious savings.
For that ultimate pop of color, I accessorized with this yellow statement necklace that I purchased from a consignment store here in Annapolis, MD, called Return to Oz. They have a lot of cute items for women and children at a reasonable price. This statement necklace was $5. I used my vintage navy blue purse to complete the look. This vintage purse was thrifted from AMVETs in San Diego for $4.
If you don’t already own an off the shoulder top, have I inspired you to get one of these tops for the summer?
