I’m thrifted head to toe here, AND, all pieces came from a recent thrift trip to Los Angeles. My thrift sister, Keren Charles of Two Stylish Kays, recently visited me in San Diego. Of course, I had to make it an epic thrift weekend for her, so I planned a thrift trip with several of other thrift enthusiasts to the Los Angeles area.
Now, I have to tell you that this trip was not for the faint of heart. We were talking a two hour drive up to the Los Angeles area, and then we shopped at 6 different stores in the Beverly Hills area. The phrase “shop until you drop” was definitely in full effect here. One store on the list was Council Thrift. This is the place I walked away with this gorgeous, H&M pencil skirt for less than $7, although the price tag still in tact showed that it originally retailed for $89. I should give credit where it’s due. Keren first spotted this number. However, it didn’t work out for her, and she
happily reluctantly passed it my way.
Where should I start about this skirt? I love everything about it. The pattern, the fit, the fact that there are pockets, and of course, the awesome thrifty price!
Another fabulous store we visited was Zoe’s Vintique in Los Angeles. This place had so MANY awesome pieces that there simply wasn’t enough time to go through everything. This cropped cape is one of my favorite finds from that store. It’s so unique. One of the best reasons to shop resale is that you will more often than not, find something that is very unique. The cape cost $15 as it was on sale. Adding the cape to this pencil skirt gives the outfit a very edgy look – a plus in my book!
I completed this outfit with these heels that I purchased at the Goodwill in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. The Goodwill was actually the first stop of the trip that day. Also, these heels were spotted by Keren, but since they weren’t her size, I clearly benefitted. The mint straps of these heels match the mint in the skirt perfectly. Can you say — “they were just meant to be styled together?” These heels set me back $6.50 as I also received a military discount on my purchase here at Goodwill. I definitely had an awesome time thrifting in Los Angeles and came back with a lot of unique and awesome items, but still staying under a strict budget. This is why I love thrifting. Looking great does not have to break the bank.
great look, I love the heels the most!
