Working in the military I have had the opportunity to live in several places and experience various winters! However, by far the absolute best place to experience winter has been San Diego. In the middle of January, I can still wear a summer dress and sport this beautiful leather jacket and feel quite comfortable. AMAZING!
I thrifted this floral high-low summer dress at a Goodwill in New York City for $7.99. To be honest with you, I actually had no intentions of wearing it during the spring or summer because it’s a strapless dress. Dealing with the right “support systems” is just too much of a hassle for me, so I tend to stay away from strapless dresses. But, when I saw this dress, I immediately thought that I would wear this dress with a jacket/sweater. The darker colors in the floral pattern particularly screamed fall/winter for me.
During the same trip to NYC, I found this gorgeous genuine light leather jacket at Savers for only $14.99. Yes, $14.99 for a genuine leather jacket is definitely one of my best thrift scores yet. The color also happens to be one of the trending colors for the fall/winter season, so I was even more excited when I came across it on the racks.
I added my go-to scarf from Ross Dress For Less to this outfit. It ties in the colors in the summer dress and stands out against the color of the leather jacket. You may have remembered seeing this scarf here.
I completed the outfit with some Steve Madden boots that I purchased for $29.00 at Macy’s on clearance, at the end of the winter season last year. I always make it a point to check out the end of the season clearances for major discounts on some of my favorite brands.
Completing the outfit is this super cute leather clutch for $15 that I purchased from Eastside Sequel, a thrift store I stumbled upon in Chula Vista, San Diego. I know, I know, my clutch cost more than my jacket. However, the clutch is so unique that I really fell in love with it when I saw it. It’s definitely a piece that I can certainly throw in with so many outfits.
