Dress Up A Basic Sweater + Lace Up Heels
Here’s one way to make a basic sweater look chic, polished, and very stylish. I own a ton of sweaters because I am that person who is always cold. Although spring for most is about ditching the sweaters, I will probably still be wearing my lighter sweaters or a jacket until late June. But, I am always looking for different ways to dress up my basic sweaters.
I thrifted this Zara cable knit cream sweater from New To You Consignment in Annapolis, MD. My price, $3.50. Retail price, $49. Yes! That is how much you can save if you take up my pleas to give second hand shopping a try.
As I wanted to make this sweater outfit stand out, I decided to go with these beautiful wine colored lace up heels from Jessica Simpson. I found these beauties at Macy’s online during one of their huge sales. I sign up for email alerts regarding sales occurring at the big department stores. This gives me the opportunity to keep an eye on ticket items that I have been eyeing, but simply not wanting to pay full price. During their most recent sale, I was able to get these lace up heels for less than $25 with free shipping. They retailed over $100.
To add a touch of glamour, I decided to rock this wine colored floppy, wide-brim hat. I recently found this hat at Georgia Avenue Thrift store in Washington, DC. I paid $4, after a 25% military discount. Yes honey, savings is my tea! The hat color is awesome as it’s a color that can be worn year-round. I think these floppy hats are not only chic and stylish, but super effortless in taking a “basic” sweater outfit up several notches.
A very simple sweater outfit that now makes a statements with the simple additions of cute heels and a hat. Of course, don’t forget to mention the low price tag!
